Student Survival Guide

Alcool NB Liquor and Moosehead Breweries Serve Up Some Straight Talk To University
and Community College Frosh On Surviving – And Thriving – On-And Off-Campus

One-Of-A-Kind Streaming Video Format Delivers Advice From Fellow Students On
Campuses Across New Brunswick

Heading to university or community college should be a blast, but you shouldn’t have to get blitzed to enjoy it. Alcool
NB Liquor (ANBL) and Moosehead Breweries Limited are proud to launch the New Brunswick Survival Guide series, a
one-of-a-kind online initiative that presents straight talk on the highs and lows of campus life, delivered by students, for
students.

The series includes individual survival guides branded and tailored to suit the specific needs of campuses across the
province. Each guide includes a downloadable booklet about life on- and off-campus and video clips of students from the
same campus, talking about campus life. Their tips are often funny observations about common undergraduate experiences;
all the clips provide important information to ensure first-year students get the most out of their experience, while acting
safe and responsible, particularly when it comes to consuming alcoholic beverages.

Interwoven with such tips as the quietest places to study and where to buy the best pizza are anecdotes from older
students describing their experiences with alcohol.

"Research shows that young people tune out traditional scare tactic advertising that warns them not to over-consume
alcohol," said Moosehead Breweries president Steven Poirier. "Our intention with this project is to develop responsible-use messages that first-year students will actually pay attention to. Our research indicates that older students have
significant influence over the actions of freshmen."

Sites have already been developed for St. Thomas University www.stusurvivalguide.ca, Mount Allison University www.mtasurvivalguide.ca, and Université de Moncton www.guidedesurvieudem.ca.

"University should be one of the best experiences of a young person’s life and we want to ensure that they enjoy that
experience in a safe environment," said Dana Clendenning, President and CEO, ANBL. "An important part of our mandate
is to inform consumers about using the products we sell in a responsible manner. That is why we have increased our
financial commitment to these types of educational programs by 50 per cent in 2007.

The New Brunswick Survival Guide series with Moosehead Breweries is an exciting initiative that will reach young people
with our message about consuming alcohol responsibly."

ANBL and Moosehead Breweries will invest $300,000 over five years in the New Brunswick Survival Guide series. The goal
is to have survival guides for all New Brunswick universities and community colleges by 2010.
