A typical Bordeaux blend consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc for reds (otherwise known as Claret) and Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle for whites.

"CHECK 25"

"CHECK 25" ID Program

At Alcool NB Liquor, we have measures in place which prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors.  The
"CHECK 25" ID Program is the best tool we have to address this issue, but only support and vigilance in our stores
can make it work successfully.

In partnership with CUPE Local 963, ANBL has implemented a province wide "CHECK 25" ID program.  The program
requires store employees to check the identification of any individual who appears to be under the age of 25 prior to
being served.  This program is in place in all corporate and agency stores.

Store employees are trained to refuse service to anyone who cannot provide valid identification.  This program ensures
that only those of legal drinking age are served.  And the program is working.  In 2008-09, store employees across
the province challenged 112,865 individuals and refused service to over 4,883 individuals.

Another positive outcome of the program is the willingness of younger customers to produce proper identification to
our cashiers before it is requested.  This enables staff to process customers more efficiently.
