Social
Responsibility
Alcool NB Liquor is required,
under the Liquor Control Act of New Brunswick, to monitor and enforce
two sections
of the Act, as they relate to social issues. That is a responsibility we
take seriously, not because we have to, but
because it’s the right thing to do.
Our mission at ANBL is to
responsibly host New Brunswick’s beverage alcohol experience and we all have
a
role to play in ensuring our customers’ needs are met in a socially
responsible way.
The focus of our efforts for
the coming year includes youth, campus life and impaired driving.
By partnering with organizations
such as Teens against Drinking and Driving (TADD), RCMP, and municipal law
enforcement, we help spread the message that consuming alcohol and driving a
motorized vehicle is a potentially
dangerous and deadly mix. And that mix is real. The 2006 Road Safety Monitor
reported 74,000 Canadians were
injured in alcohol-related collisions and 1,350 people were killed.
The answer to these senseless
collisions and deaths is simple, plan ahead. If you’re going to
consume alcohol,
make plans to get a drive, call a taxi or find a safe place to stay for the
night.
Your life and the lives of
others are not worth the risk.
